Go-live of the 2nd edition on the ‘corsi.inmatica.com’ web platform
Inmatica, the Sport Law and Management of the University of Salento Degree Course, pertaining to the Department of Legal Sciences, and the Salento Biomedical District, with the active collaboration of the I-Store Research Centre and the International and European Sports Law Thematic Group of the SIDI Società Italiana di Diritto Internazionale e di Diritto dell’Unione Europea, have given the go-live to the web platform corsi.inmatica.com dedicated to the second edition of the specialised training course ‘A new approach to Sports Data Analysis’.
The platform presents the objectives of the project, the structure of the course and how it can be accessed, and also allows the course to directly be purchased online. The course includes the possibility of attending in presence but also live-streaming, and will take place over three consecutive days, from the 26th to the 28th of November in the prestigious location of the Salento Biomedical District, in Lecce.
A richer edition in terms of content, with the participation of prestigious industry professionals
In sports management, data and algorithms are becoming more and more crucial in the processing of information coming from the performances of athletes and teams, and as a consequence, the decision-making strategies of sports clubs and technical staff are increasingly based on data, at all levels.
The general goal of the course, structured in six learning modules, three in-depth sessions, and a final workshop, will therefore be to introduce and demonstrate the potential of a ‘data-driven’ technological innovation for Sport Management, relying on the collaboration and evidence of prestigious professionals of the sector who have shared the goals of the initiative, supporting it with their attendance. In fact, speakers will include Ferdinando De Giorgi, coach of the Italian Men’s National Volleyball Team, Simone Bertino, National Coach of the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation and PTR Professional specialising in Video & Match Analysis, and Matteo Camoni, match and data analyst with important experience in the Italian A and B Series of football.
The three professionals will have the opportunity, with in-depth talks each lasting 2 hours, to illustrate the importance of being able to extract ‘value’ from data to support the work of technical staff in the various sports disciplines, enhancing competitiveness.
Sports and Health: a combination that unites all the partners of the project
Sports and health have always represented an inseparable combination, also with prevention purposes. The analysis and extraction of value from data combined with the use of innovative sensor technology and the Internet of Things therefore allows us to deepen certain aspects that can be an important aid to all structures operating within sports clubs, sports doctors and the athletes themselves. All Partners intend to promote multidisciplinarity and an approach based on open innovation, in the belief that the sharing of know-how, experience and knowledge and inclusiveness within the community and the entire ecosystem constitute a huge added value for people’s health and the growth of the community.
The Salento Biomedical District is the location that will host the three-day event.
