IEEE features work from Inmatica and UniSalento
The results of one of the most important research projects carried out by Inmatica in collaboration with the High Performance Computing (HPC) Lab of the Department of Innovation Engineering of the University of Salento have been published by the IEEE – Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, one of the world’s most prestigious institutes in the field of technology, engineering and scientific innovation. The research aimed to develop predictive models for energy consumption by analysing a large dataset of readings from ‘smart’ electricity meters.
Using Artificial Intelligence to innovate in the energy sector
Joint work over the past two years has led to the development of a new artificial intelligence model, the ‘Just In Time Transformer‘, a Transformer-based architecture designed to overcome the limitations of traditional models. The Just In Time Transformer is characterised by its ability to make highly accurate predictions, providing a solid foundation for optimising electricity distribution. Accurate forecasting of residential energy loads is critical to reducing carbon emissions and improving energy efficiency; accurate forecasts enable utilities and governments supporting sustainable energy practices to optimise resource use, reduce pollution and limit costs, with objective benefits to the community.
Inmatica leads the way in developing innovative I.T. solutions
Publication by the IEEE is an exceptional achievement. The Institute is renowned for the scientific rigour and selectivity of its publications, accepting only those papers that demonstrate innovation, quality, and significant impact on the scientific and industrial landscape. This recognition confirms the excellence of the work carried out and underlines the importance of the results achieved.
Inmatica is proud of this prestigious award and would like to thank all the researchers involved and the Department of Innovation Engineering of UniSalento for their fruitful collaboration. This success reinforces the company’s commitment to invest with even greater conviction in cutting-edge research projects, in order to help meet the energy challenges of the future with advanced, innovative technological solutions of high quality and reliability.
